You might have mysteriously heard me whisper 'this is the year of letting go' becaaauuuse – 'our' house, the house we fell in love with (which is quirky, and full of light, and has a garden and even a little swimming-pool - my voice has gone up an octave by now - and yes, needs A LOT of work - voice has gone back into normal mode) is back on the market and we are back in the game. True, these things take forever and nothing's decided yet, but what the heck, I've started…
a) getting rid of a ton of clothes,
b) packing boxes &
c) dreaming up interiors.
Any recommendations for cool interior design blogs anyone? ♥ ♥ ♥
And wouldn't you wish to live in the British Museum, if just for the columns?

oooh exciting times! Do you know sfgirlbybay? http://www.sfgirlbybay.com/ it's my favourite design and interiors blog.
Are you excited or dreading it or both??? I think I'd be a combination of the two. Nice to start fresh but hard to let go of something that you love. Good luck, Sabine! xoxo
Thank you, Harriet, I'll definitely check sfgirlbybay out!
You couldn't have put it in better words, Dawn :)

well it sounds like you are game to move! a LOT of work on a house must be intimidating. i drive past the worst fixer upper EVER most nights after work, and i think i might be able to afford that place. but, odds are i couldn't. and i am about as handy as a cat when it comes to home improvements. lol
hope your home sells when you are ready, and that you find fabulous new digs! :)
Ha, no house to sell. One could see that as an advantage... maybe.
How exciting! Moon To Moon is my favourite (in my side bar), Bohemian and beautiful. x
Oh Sabine, that sounds so exciting and a bit like fate. I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed for you! xx
i follow some interior blogs but i can't for the life of me remember their names, when they pop up on my blog roll i'll send them you
design sponge

xoxo
I love Sue from The Zhush. If you haven't met her, tell her I sent you over there. I am so sad I didn't take you up on your offer to visit your home. Kicking myself!!!!!!!
Good luck with everything!! Pinterest is great for interior inspiration!
Soooo excited for your new house, new life, new interiors. And we were in the same situation, waiting for the longest time until we found the right spot for the right price. No house to sell either, which made the jump very easy. (Living "temporarily" for years nearly made me go mad.)
But what you said about "letting go" is so true. Since part of life is exploring, we view this as our house for now. If a wonderful new opportunity came, we would not hesitate to pack up and go, like a couple of gypsies. -- J xxx
Thanks for asking the design question. Fingers crossed the house is yours. Xxxx
